This pre-Katrina made bookwork, though it looks like the post-Katrina-flood New Orleans ravages, is a collection of images taken in “the deep, deep country of St. Etienne,” France. A crumbling chateau of the LaFaye family was one of the destination stops Gilbert was led to when searching for vestiges during a French Exchange sponsored by the Alliance Francaise de la Nouvelle Orleans and Ecole des Beaux Arts de St. Etienne.
